Hostilities between left and right grow daily in the United States. All it takes is a brief glance at history to see that these hostilities could eventually devolve into civil war. Both sides are beginning to realize this. However, one side seems much more confident in its ability to win such a conflict. After all, one side has amassed more personal firearms than any other population on earth. But I believe they are underestimating the formidability of their opponents.
About 200 years ago, the great military strategist Carl von Clausewitz noticed that the constant evolution of war technology meant a constant evolution of war strategy/tactics. Before the last industrial revolution, the rights massive advantage in firearms would have given them an easy victory. However, today, wars are being waged within economies and cyberspace as well as on the battlefield.

Well written, short essay worth reading and thinking about.
I am a student of von Clauswitz too and his philosophy among several others factors big into my way of military thinking. Too many factors are left out and when it comes to certain factors the left will get wiped out. They are not more formidable than the Republican Guard.
Watch how fast 500,000 people with semi-auto riffles can bring down the economy and cyberspace. Imagine New York city and Washington DC without electricity or food supplies for two weeks and you get the picture.
Because they have no morals or ethics and are ruthless?
They may have masses of brain dead antifa morons rally in the streets, but a few, a very few, properly decorated lamp posts would shift their paradigm instantly. Those promoting this unrest feel they will not suffer any consequences. To their shock and dismay, they will be among the first to find themselves in an uncomfortable position. That’s when it changes.
I think its a huge & unrealistic stretch to assume that nearly half (or even a quarter) of the US population will be declared “Nazis” and banned from the Internet.
Some of us have know for decades how formidable the Left is. In my mind, the #1 reasons is that they never seem to give up or stop. Conservatives often (prematurely) declare victory and move on. Not the Left. If they temporarily lose, they morph into another form and keep trying. If they win, they don’t stop but keep exploiting the victory. Both sides have victories and setback. However, after 40 years of observing, I’m struck by how far the Left has managed to move the goalposts. Even worse, is that they seem to have almost complete control over popular culture and the educational establishment. Organizations that used to serve as cultural bulkwards, like religious groups, have been diminished and/or co-opted.
All, in all, it is very depressing. My big hope is that as Millennials age, they will become more conservative. While they have received a lot of indoctrination, it is always hard to ignore reality looking you in the face. We’ll see.
Both sides have plenty of firearms. It's the side that is willing to use theirs that counts and right now, there's only one side I see out there smashing windows and breaking things. This is the side that is conditioning themselves to use violence.
Those 500,000 have to be coordinated, fed, and transported. Their families need to be protected.
If we can do that, we can win without the armed conflict.
The left is kicking our butt. Do you feel free? They want you in chains.
That is what the ChiComs are doing to us. De industrializing the USA with out right in your face mercantilism.
“Conservatives often (prematurely) declare victory and move on. “
I believe the bigger problem is that they declare or predict defeat and stop trying. That and they don’t have the cohesion the other side has.
Consider how almost no Congresscritters are willing to be serious about border security, even though polls show it as enormously popular, in the 70%-80% range.
This shows how completely the Left dominates the culture and media politicians take seriously.
The media is the deep state.
It is a complicated issue with many (many) layers to it. But another important layer is that many [supposed] conservatives are not real conservatives. Ryan, Flake and Corker are just three that come to mind. Some of these guys might be plants or infiltrators. Others might just be wishy washy. Others care too much what the Media says about them. And still others have no moral compass and will say whatever they need to in order to be elected (and not mean it).
I honestly think if the media was fair, republicans would do better. The media is so hostile to republicans and best friends with democrats. That to me is why democrats have the upper hand. They have the entire education system too. But I still think the media is main culprit.

Yup, for sure. But, the Left/Right struggle isnt about firearms. Its about free stuff. Once an entitlement is granted its impossible to ever take it back. Entitlements corrupt the grantees. And, we as a country at at, perhaps over, the tipping point. In other words there are now more people riding in the wagon than there are pulling the wagon. Another way to put it is there are now more takers than there are makers. Anyway, sadly, we are in deep doo doo...
Exactly so.
President Donald Trump exists because the Deep State Media no longer have overwhelming dominance of the information flow in society.
