I am going to scream with all these eulogizing threads. Evil people, especially rich ones, can pretend to be good. I’m sure he was a hero in the armed services, great. But he played a part in bringing down 2.5 presidents. How can it be overlooked? Oh, because his cia connections allowed him to never get caught. No one seems to know what he did. Even the two phony alibis he and he wife concocted for the JFK assassination that were written down, no one talks about.

I agree. Much of it is disingenuous as well. I didn't see one second of the McCain funeral coverage (side benefit of having no cable TV) but I hear it was ponderous beyond belief, attended by many who "praised him" but were happy to shove a knife in his back when he was running for president against their beloved Obama back in 2008.

Personally, I don't grieve a whole lot for people who live to be 94 years old. When my beloved grandmother passed away a few years back who was around the same age, I was happy that she was finally out of her misery (her last few years were not pleasant) and took note of the fact that for nearly 90 years, she had a mostly wonderful life.

All of us are going to have our time to die. When you get past say 70 years old and you are still in good health, consider yourself in bonus territory and savor every day of it.
