Those guys are crazy over there in Russia. Their rule for winter driving appears to be to drive as fast and as recklessly as possible.
Whatever else the Russians sis or didn’t do...they sure can’t drive.
Some of the parking fail videos are pretty funny too.

This is my favorite (although I could only find the sped-up version). In the actual video, you can see that the gal never took her cell phone away from her ear.
I know. I watched one where there were three older women facing each other talking near an intersection where a car violently t-bones another car.
The three women pause to look over, then without a hitch go back to talking as they had been
I can only think this fatalism is the result of 100 years of serfdom under communism preceeded by a couple of hundred years or so of serfdom under the Tzars.
“Was watching similar the other day and realized, this is why they all have dashcams.”
A Russian told me that the reason they all have dashcams is when the Soviet Union collapsed all sorts of new businesses started up. One such was insurance. It was followed, at light speed, by insurance fraud. He said that in short order no claim would be paid without visual proof of your story.
Yes the auto body shops specialize in legalizing ‘imported’ vehicles stolen in the US ...
Same rules apply in Turkey, except always sound your horn at the sight of any other car ... navigate intersections, rights of way etc by sound ...
In Italy, taxi drivers depend on the horn. It takes precedence over the brake and turn signals.
80 years of having the communists make all of the decisions for you has removed the self preservation ability from them.
Here’s proof of Russian Collusion
That was my impression as well.
Thanks, I think I know how to curse in Russian now...
I live on a mountainside in Montana accessed by miles of dirt/gravel road. I used to play this game to see how far I could get home in 2wd. I stopped playing when my pickup went out of control faster than I thought possible with me heading towards a power pole on the opposite side of the road. Only the snow plowed up around the base of the pole saved my truck from serious damage.
I did manage to crack the plastic part, under the chrome bumper, where the fog lights are. A cheap lesson for being stupid.
Winter driving is not a game. Snow is fine ... but ice is deadly.
I live in the foothills outside of a Montana town and ALWAYS have four studded snow tires on our vehicles.
Makes a HUGE difference in cornering and stopping.
I highly doubt any of the drivers in these Russian videos had appropriate tires for the conditions. WAY too much sliding and drifting...
“Each crash seems nearly 100% predictable. Very odd.”
I noticed that, too. Zero defensive driving. Most made no effort to avoid the collision.
Anyway, interesting article on Russian dashcams from an older WIRED article. Apparently YouTube has agreement with Russian government to pull "disturbing" dash cam content which is why we only get the fender benders minus the blood and guts.
Russian driving accident videos are the best and there are a lot on you tube BECAUSE many many Russian vehicles have dashboard cams installed. I am not sure why. Perhaps to be able to prove your side in an accident?
I figured this was the reason but did not think of the corrupt police that might get involved in a collision report.
