Breyer is getting up there in years also.

If any justice retires in 2020, the Democrats will howl about Merrick Garland and how the rule is not to consider Supreme Court nominees during a presidential election year.

Just saying, if there’s a vacancy in 2020, the media and Democrats will say we shouldn’t fill the vacancy.

It doesn’t matter. They don’t call the shots-in the Senate, at least.

. . . ‘course that precedent would never have been set if the Democrats controlled the Senate in 2016 - and will not outlast the next time a SCOTUS vacancy arises in a presidential election year when the Democrats do control the Senate as well as the WH.
