He squadron commander plead with her to request reassignment. As he apparently noted the F-14 was a’demanding’ plane for even experienced naval aviators to land on a carrier and that several aviators with quite a few flight hours had requested relief after flying and landing the Tomcat on a pitching carrier deck. Unfortunately the feministas in the Navy safe behind a desk kept the pressure on and the Navy hierarchy were no better wanting to beat the USAF to being first with a female combat pilot.
