No, I’m taking a jaundiced 50 year overview. Obviously, Ohio State and Michigan don’t blow it EVERY year, no matter how hard they may try. But they collapse in big games more regularly than any other of the reputed top programs. And they often find ways to look bad doing it.

Urban Meyer is 4-2 in post season bowl games with OSU and is 7-0 versus Michigan. That would be even better except his 12-0 2012 team was ineligible for post season. You’d have to go all the way back to the John Cooper years to find consistent losses in the big ones since Jim Tressel was 6-3, including a National Championship, post season before Meyer. It seems OSU doesn’t collapse as often as you think.
