Meh. caring about what the Saudis or any other Muslim ME garbage dump does to it’s citizens is a waste of time. These are the same bunch who beheaded one of their own “royal princesses” in the 70s.
Turkey doesn't give a flying rat's butt about imprisoning, torturing, or murdering folks - so it's interesting that Turkey has decided to pretend that they care, to damage the Saudis.
For those of you who are paying attention, there are four power brokers in the Middle/Near East: Israel, Iran, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. All are vying for power in the region and have their respective allied countries. Saudi Arabia is important because they have a tacit alliance with Israel against Iran and provide an offset to the Iranian attempts at controlling the Persian Gulf.
Turkey is trying to be the next major power in the area and if it takes boosting Iran, they'll do it.
Those countries murder people they disagree with everyday and nobody GAS. Why the fuss over this guy? Is it simply because he is a “journalist” and they are defending one of their own? Frankly I don’t think anyone really cares about this story.

Between the Turks and the Saudis, I’ll side with the latter. This whole thing stinks and it will likely all go back to the Iran deal. Stinks to high heaven much like the assassination that started world war 1. Iran wants WW3.
