Life,Liberty and Levin on FOXNEWS November 18, 2018. Guest, Victor David Hanson.
VDH @ 38:43 : " I think we are in an 1861 1968 moment. Optimistically ... America the first truly multi-racial society... united by a shared ideology commitment to Constitutional government. If that doesn't`t happen, that very easily could not happen if we demagogue the identity politics and other issues then were going to go the route 1861 ...Something like the Balkans , Rwanda , Austria Hungary Ottoman empires ..."
Both are pessimistic short term, 10-20 years. VDH believes assimilation , post 20 years, the USA will have its Constitutional Republic back.
I`m pessimistic because in the interim, the next 10-20 years will belong to the Neo-Marxists who will destroy the Republic and force an 1861 2.0 moment. The advantage comes from the Neo-Marxists holding the reigns of power and using it to destroy, by any means, all opposition to their post-nation post constitutional State.
this was a great segment on foxnews.
Thanks for posting...I am ashamed to say I flipped back and forth between shows last night - Mark’s show AND “Clinton Affair”. I know I would have learned more from Mark and Victor David Hanson (love that guy) - well, both to be exact but I couldn’t resist seeing what they made out of Whitewater, Ken Starr, both Clintons, Paula Jones, Lewinsky, Vince Foster AND others.
I’ll watch the link you posted and again, thanks!

Great interview!
Thanks for posting :)
Yes! I watched it last night and it was amazing. VDH can put it in perspective like no one else.
Thanks for posting. Love VDH.
Honestly, Trump notwithstanding, we’re going to be devoured by immigration if we don’t get it under control. Losing the short term also means losing the long term.
VDH seemed particularly cautious around Mark Levin, probably out of respect for Levin’s learning. Assimilation is needed but it is up against identity politics which places peoples into collective groups and tribes as the balkanization and destruction of America continues along the Marxist lines of an intestine class warfare. The collectives and tribes will be like the soviet satellite countries where a strong central government rules and keeps the peace. That’s the socialist end in a nutshell — big government dictatorship.
And the American government will no doubt be part of a globalist government, like the EU model. Everybody will be cosmopolitan (and tribal if you can figure that out). And this will be seen as freedom and enlightenment from the parochial and constrictive times of nationalism. “We are the world” as an 80s song suggests.
I think the universities are the hotbeds for these Marxist ideas and someone needs to come in with a metaphorical blowtorch and level the place into mounds of cinder and ash. But things are looking up: 1) Males are leaving the humanities and social sciences in droves once they figured out the PC insanity and lack of job prospects 2) The wall, once it is built, will represent national unity 3) Trump will be around for at least 2024 in which a lot of good things will be done to convince most Americans 4) The MSM is busting up because of alternative social media and that explains their political polarization — a polarization needed to keep a viewing public. Once they are gone true journalism will resume the way should be.
I’m a pessimist about the next 20 years.
The core issue is money, in my opinion.
Trump and the GOP majority Congress ran a $800 billion deficit in FY 2018.
With huge unfunded Social Security and Medicare bills coming due, we will be booking $2 trillion deficits by 2030.
And, people forget that we have had near record low interest rates since the Great Recession of 2008.
As our federal debt continues to explode, investors will demand higher and higher interest rates before loaning us money, which means we will have to borrow even more money just to pay the higher interest rates.
Finally, most Americans seem to think that Artificial Intelligence and Automation will create more jobs than they destroy.
I disagree. For the first time in history, the new wave of technology is going to permanently replace millions of workers who have average skills and average intelligence.
There is no way that will be able to “educate” people out of this dilemma. For many years, increasing public welfare will be the only solution.
Beyond 2040, I think the economic picture will be much more optimistic.
The productivity of new machines and new software will continue to increase much faster than human productivity, which means that tax revenues and public welfare will increase much faster, too.
We can more than make up the shortfall by sending the damn illegals back to where they came form - and from this time forward using our treasure for the benefit of the American family NOT to satisfy the puff-up insane virtue signaling by stupid 'elites'... (on our dime)
