You see armed robbers going in, do you sit and pray and call the police, or do you go over to confront the threat?
Being ready to do that doesn’t justify making it the gravamen of your social and spiritual plan.
I mean, it has a role in this fallen world. And God bless it. By making it difficult enough to get away with crime, the foolish will learn wisdom. But there is a tempered medium here. We do not want a society run chiefly by guns.
