CNN national security and legal analyst Susan Hennessey is calling on White House press corp members to boycott future briefings after Jim Acosta, the networks chief White House correspondent, had his press credentials revoked Wednesday evening. The suspension comes after a heated confrontation earlier between President Donald Trump and Acosta during a news conference.
Reacting to reports of Acostas credentials being revoked, a furious Hennessey tweeted: This is a disgraceful and unacceptable attack on a free and independent press. The rest of the White House Press Corp should stand with their colleague @Acosta and refused to participate in any briefing until this appalling decision is reversed.
The sparring between the pair occurred after Acosta asked President Trump about the caravan of migrants heading from Latin America to the southern U.S. border. When Acosta attempted to pose a followup question, President Trump said, Thats enough and a White House aide unsuccessfully tried to remove the microphone from Acostas hand.
Honestly, I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN, and if you did it well, your ratings would be much better. Okay, thats enough, the president told Acosta after a brief exchange regarding the caravan.
Acosta, still refusing to allow other reporters to pose questions, then asked the president for his thoughts on special counsel Robert Muellers Russia probe. I will tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for themyou are a rude, terrible person, you shouldnt be working for CNN, President Trump told the CNN reporter. Youre a very rude person, the way you treat Sarah Huckabee is horrible, and the way you treat other people are horrible, you shouldnt treat people that way.

And that’s the thing. Acosta was also effectively depriving other reporters, including those ideologically aligned with him, opportunities to ask their own questions.
Sure, why don’t all you reporters stand with Jim, who had a childish tantrum and hit a girl.
Fox is iffy these days.....
Turning left at a fast pace.
Great idea! Rather than going through the motions of interviewing the White House staff and/or President, and then making up lies...they can spend their time in their cubicals, making up lies.
What a savings in time and expense! And they dont have to feel threatened by those interns!
“Knife...meet nose.”
Now, with a quick downward slice...
“We showed you!”
President Trump should give the press exactly as much access as the kenyan did. Use his own photographer, etc. “Not a smidgen more” as ole purple lips would have said.
I can’t really see a downside to a media walkout.
A lot fewer diapers to change too!
Or say fine and invite Breitbart, OANN, etc. Allow some ACTUAL news media to attend.
Trump should shut those press briefings down to once a week. Maybe Fridays.
Clearly this dimwit has not thought this course of action through very well. Retaliation is supposed to be a negative for your adversary not a plus. If it weren't for bad ideas the libtards would have no ideas at all. Can you say NPC, I knew ya could.
There are plenty of new media outlets who would love a spot in there and who would be a heck of a lot more respectful.
Right Side Broadcasting Network for one.
Don’t forget the “how to avoid assaulting a woman” class.
Trump should just cancel the daily briefing for a week or two. It wouldn’t make them more civil but it would be fun to watch.
Agree!
I recommend having 2-a-day press conferences as long as the big outlets are boycotting.
Is there a single adult in charge at CNN?
IF an employee of mine acted like that -—on open camera television of not——He would be picking up his FINAL paycheck within 6 hours.
Acosta has been out of line from day one. He has not acted professional in any way. Many WH reporters over the years have had an obvious bias against various presidents, press secretaries- asking tough questions, looking for a gotcha. Acosta’s behavior has been far beyond that. He shows no professionalism, no civility,no manners, zero class. There are a few others that are rude but he is beyond rude even to other reporters. Acosta is a bully, I have wondered why he was allowed to continue to attend.
If other reporters choose to not attend in support of Acosta, then they need to be replaced. It is that simple. There should be an expected level of behavior and civility.
Wow, that would really show Trump and his deplorables/us!
My wife and one of our SIL’s are excellent nurses. When their/our 2/3 year old kids went bratty and held their breath.
They just ignored them until they passed out or realized that that plan wasn’t working.
It only took a couple of life’s real lessons to stop that behavior.
So please, boycott President Trump’s briefings to punish us!
