Actually, the Left is now willing to be open about it. They need their base energized and gun grabbing is one of the few hot button topics this side of insuring baby killing continues or that perverts will be honored that seems to get that base consistently going their way. Count on them being ever more rabid as time goes by.
Republicans will hopefully finally start to learn that being Democrat Lites, that trying to get along with Democrats as “statesmen” rather than keep their campaign promise, is what really hurts them.
