As the administration sends 5,200 troops to the border, the host painted GOP rhetoric as midterm election fearmongering.
The GOP-fueled hysteria over the Central American migrant caravan traveling north through Mexico is nothing more than midterm election hyperbole, Fox News host Shep Smith insisted Monday.
“There is no invasion. No one’s coming to get you. There’s nothing at all to worry about,” he said calmly on “Shepard Smith Reporting” on Monday.
“But tomorrow is one week before the midterm election — which is what all of this all about,” he added.
Smith tried to calm the public about the caravan shortly after President Donald Trump again referred to it as an “invasion” and U.S. officials announced that an additional 5,200 American troops will be deployed to the border by week’s end, The Washington Post reported.
“This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!” Trump tweeted earlier in the day....

Naw, Shep is an original. He gives Fox legitimacy to their diversity claim. Just a token who’s on at 2:00pm cst when no one is watching.

He’s been at Fox since the network started, yet used the ‘eve’ of the election to make a big announcement about his personal life. Only the the biggest news cycle since 9/11 and the Iraq invasion. Nobody ran him off the air or even gave a crap in the 20 plus years.
Just don’t watch him and let the ratings make him go poof, if I’m watching TV when he comes on I switch over to Liz Claman on FOX Business.

If Shep had spent less of his time applying mascara and KY jelly, he would have learned the tools of his professed trade: the English language. Then he would have known that the definition of “INVASION” is not restricted to an invading armed military but also includes:
- an unwelcome intrusion into the domain of another.
- an incursion by a large number of people or things into another place or sphere of activity.
