My bet is they are non functional. Why mail a time bomb? It’s stupid. We will never find out who it was because it is a retired FBI guy.
I read that one news agency has photos of one of the bombs, but I can’t find any reference to them.

6 uncancelled stamps - I don’t believe it ever went through the USPS. Also, 6 first class stamps, even if it did really go through the Post Office and they failed to cancel the stamps, the weight of that thing would have to be 10 ounces or less. Have no idea what the materials are from the picture, but my eye questions that it is under 10 ounces.
Looking at that bomb I am reminded of the Texas Clock Boy terrorist. His device was more sophisticated. Okay, this looks like something built in Mom’s basement by a whacked out kid or adult still living at home. I still wonder when we will find out that the FBI, ATF, or someone has already been aware of the person, maybe even involved. Maybe that is why none of the devices actually worked?
