That’s a rather pathetic wage. Guess their setting this up to say Americans won’t take the jobs so they’ll ask for H1B or send the call center overseas.
This is what the Democrats are resisting.
In Louisiana as perhaps the second family income with full benefits? Do you live in Beverley Hills?
Thats a rather pathetic wage.

Not for the area, in a non oil patch job.
33k sounds pretty good for rural Lousisana, not sure exactly where these jobs are. 33k won’t go far in NYC or LA or SF.
Half of the workers in this country make less than $30,000 a year.
Starting wage and for some its decent money
People in NY make more than $33k/yr being on the system.
Um ... I used to live in Lafayette. It AIN’T rural at all.
;-)
Thanks for info. I’m not familiar with Louisiana.
I started at $8.50 at a ATT ISP site in 1998. I quit 4 days later for a $10 one at Earthlink. ATT closed their center about 2 years later and a flood of former ATT workers showed up.
I do similar work doing internal support for just over $30/hr a year. You gotta start somewhere.
Cajun country. Am I right?
Lafayette. The other side of the swamp from Baton Rouge.
Oui, mon ami.

It varies from state to state and within the state. With those perks, It may be a better wage than what you believe it to be.
I’ve known co-workers who were working for the medical coverage. The money was not the main concern. It all depends on what you’re looking for.
Also, if a company has a Matching Fund, that’s an additional perk for later down the road. Many people who participate in the Matching Fund programs wouldn’t begin to be able to save at the rate they saved without that program.
My wife IS a Ragin’ Cajun! ‘80
Summa Cum Laude
The heart of it.
Only Abbeville might be more Cajun. Or Broussard. ;-)
Except Breaux Bridge has THE crawfish festival
Nope. Los Angeles area. I make good money but housing and taxes are too high. I know in Alabama the same type job pays what I make as a co-worker has been looking in that area to move to.
