Former FBI lawyer: Plot to record, remove Trump not a joke
The Hill ^ | October 8, 2018 | John Soloman

Posted on 10/09/2018 4:51:46 AM PDT by iontheball

Don’t tell former FBI general counsel James Baker that those now-infamous discussions about secretly recording President Donald Trump and using the tapes to remove him from office were a joke.

He apparently doesn’t believe it. And he held quite the vantage point — he was on the inside of the bureau’s leadership in May 2017, when the discussions occurred.

Baker told Congress last week that his boss — then-Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe — was dead serious about the idea of surreptitiously recording the 45th president and using the evidence to make the case that Trump should be removed from office, according to my sources.

Baker told Congress that his boss — then-Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe (now joking to get himself off the hook) at the time,
was dead serious about surreptitiously recording Pres Trump and using the evidence to make the case to remove Trump from office.....

This sounds like it came straight out of the Clintons' playbook......with a nod from Obama
to use Third World tactics.....like a bunch of tinpot dictators..... to get rid of people standing in your way.

I’m hoping we have firing squads at the end of all of this.

Surreptitious plot to record the President is no laughing matter, it is treason.

*************

And there clearly was a CABAL behind it. If they are not severely punished this will happen again.

Thanks for posting this.

Woodward and Bernstein are all over this.

This thing is Watergate to the 10th power. The sanctimonious Woodward and Berstein probably knew about the cabal’s activities, but they are obvious Trump haters — not real journalists.

If RR has flipped to save his own skin Mueller has a big problem.

*****************

Its possible but unlikely that he has. RR is a manipulative dissembler who helped set up Mueller. If he flips against him there might be some damaging blow back from Mueller that further implicates RR.

That said, RR must be holding some pretty good cards to survive this long. He seems to be able to persuade Trump for whatever reasons.

Devin Nunes said Thursday, which is the 11th Oct, when he was on Fox today:

9 Oct: The Hill: This week: Rosenstein set to meet with House GOP
By Jordain Carney
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is set to meet with House Republicans this week as part of the lingering fallout from a bombshell New York Times report.
The interview with the joint House Oversight and Judiciary Committees comes after The Times reported last month that Rosenstein had discussed wearing a wire to record Trump as part of a possible effort to seek his removal from office under the 25th Amendment.
“The 11th is the date that we’re shooting for. The leadership and Chairman [Bob] Goodlatte [(R-Va.)], and a number of the conservative members said it should be a transcribed interview in a closed-door setting,” Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) told Hill.TV’s “Rising” last week.

It is unclear in what format Rosenstein would meet with the lawmakers, whether as a transcribed interview as part of the investigation into the FBI and Department of Justice headed by the GOP-controlled Judiciary and Oversight Committees or as something less formal...

“You can’t have the head of the Justice Department, (even if it’s sarcasm) talking to subordinates about recording the Commander in Chief,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a member of the conservative Freedom Caucus and a close ally of President Trump, said last month...

Sessions will fire him
Or he will resign

Or so says “ Q”
Goading Trump into firing him is a trap

Well, Rosenstein’s ability to evade accountability is remarkable, if not astonishing. I think you would agree with that.

There’s an old saying: Those who can smile in the face of adversity have found someone else to pin the blame on.

I don’t know what RR has but its obviously been enough to keep him on the government payroll. He may yet pay a price but so far he’s managed to dodge the bullet. Its natural to wonder why and what his ace in the hole is?

The swamp is everywhere....

From Eisenhower's famous 'Military Industrial Complex Speech'... Some historians have managed to conveniently forget the other dangers, (other than the military) that Eisenhower mentions in that speech.

"The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite."

In my considerable work experience I’ve never heard anyone suggest or joke about removing the boss. Grumbling is permissible, questioning decisions is also OK. But any talk of removing them is strictly verboten. Its akin to mutiny.

The “Educational & Entertainment Industrial Complexes” are far more dangerous than the “Military Industrial Complex”.
