The Illinois Republican Congressional Delegation sent a letter to the U.S. Attorney’s Office calling for a full investigation into JB Pritzker’s “scheme to defraud” Illinois taxpayers by ripping toilets out of his mansion to claim the property as uninhabitable.

Mr. Lausch:
We write to call your attention to a recent Cook County Inspector General investigation which concluded that Jay Robert (J.B.) Pritzker engaged in a “scheme to defraud” Cook County of over $300,000 in improper property tax reductions and refunds.
The Inspector General’s report concluded that the assessment reductions were reduced due to fraudulent affidavits. These affidavits falsely claimed that the mansion had been “vacant and uninhabitable,” with no working toilets, since January 1, 2012. The Inspector General report found that, contrary to the affidavits, the toilets had been removed on October 6, 2015, just ten days before a scheduled appraisal of the property, at the direction of M.K. Pritzker.
The facts described in the Inspector General’s report appear to constitute fraud and perjury. Since the improperly-obtained refund checks were sent to Mr. Pritzker through the U.S. Mail, a violation of 18 USC 1341 (the Federal Mail Fraud Statute) may have occurred.
Illinois, perhaps more than any other state, has suffered greatly due to public corruption. Four of Illinois’ last nine governors have gone to prison. It is important to send a strong signal to the people of Illinois that no one is above the law, not even billionaires running for Governor.

Pritzker has this walking away. Rauner is the worst Republican governor in US history. Other than him I’m voting straight ticket R, leaving the Governors race blank.

Hell, illinois could have the unique distinction of having a CANDIDATE for governor go to prison.

Sounds like Pritzker surely could be prison bound if he is elected. In Illinois,as well as some other states,the problem seems to be twofold. One is too-high property taxes because state “leadership” has not understood concepts like fiscal responsibility. The other is when folks try to beat the fraud-ridden system in various questionable ways. Just thankful I don’t & hopefully never will live in that corrupt state. It’s plenty bad enough in some other states as well.
And if Pritzker wins it will be because of people just like you. Unfortunately the rest of us will suffer with our state becoming an even worse Dem bankrupt shit hole.
Pritzker will win because of people like Rauner.

I used to spend some time in Illinois back seven years ago.
I know you as a solid poster. Give me a short rundown, when you can, as to Rauner’s faults.
Illinois is always a train wreck as Chicago is such a “machine” city on both sides of the aisle. Where has Rauner taken them.
Rauner’s Greatest Hits:
1. Abortion on demand at taxpayer expense after declaring himself pro life during the campaign.
2. Largest tax increase in Illinois history after promising no tax increases while he campaigned.
3. Signing legislation making Illinois a “sanctuary State”. The entire damned State.
I’ll leave his spot on the ballot blank come hell or high water.

I have always seen the Republican party in Illinois hamstrung as the Chicago area portion is part of the machine politics.
Incorrect. In Illinois we have “The Combine”. There is really no difference between the two on a party level. Oh, we have some fine individual conservatives rattling around. But the Central Committee downstate is every bit as corrupt as the upstate Dem Committee is.
I know. I was personally involved at the County level.
Rauner is about as Republican as Pritzker is.

The Illinois RCC are the idiots who foisted Alan Keyes on us during a certain Senate campaign about 13 years ago. He was running against some minor league Chicago Machine Dem by the name of Obama.
