"...painted as being selfish..."

Sane patrons do not expect to dine in a restaurant in total ideological agreement with everyone at every adjacent table.

Were my family and friends to be dining somewhere and Nancy Pelosi were seated thirty feet away, I would be furious if Republican protestors stormed the place with airhorns, whistles, and drums.

Senator Cruz and Heidi Cruz should have waited there until police arrived and it also would have put the restaurateur on notice his/her response was being carefully observed, too.

I absolutely agree. However, sane patrons also don’t expect that a group of protesters will show up and ruin their dinner, in the process of making life miserable for one of their fellow patrons. That fellow patron did the reasonable thing, and left so that the rest of the patrons (of whatever ideological stripe) could finish their meals in peace and quiet.

Honestly, there is something on both sides here. I understand why he left, and I would have also understood if he stayed. However, I think that it would have been portrayed badly for him if he had stayed. By leaving, there was still a story, and that story was that, once again, Leftist lunatics (but I repeat myself) are busy destroying the social fabric of this country to force their views on everyone else. IMHO, the average fence-sitter who sees that video is going to be pushed to our side of that fence with a simple question: “When are these lunatics going to do that to ME?”
