I think that you misunderstand the world as it is presently ordered.
The current order is: the left can assault, violate, and trample your rights with impunity.
If anyone were to counterattack.... with so much as a pole in the ribs, the list of criminal charges would be lengthy, and the volume of the media attack machine would reach 115 dB.
How to resolve this is nothing short of removing the politicians who enable this. The DC mayor is a democRAT, and the mayor is not going to insist that the police do anything about this.
