This isn't fair to McConnell. Both he and Grassley are hamstrung by Collins, Flake, and Murkowski. Collins is probably the key vote. If they ram this vote through without offering a hearing to Ford, they'll all vote no and the nomination is sunk.

If their goal is to get Kavanaugh confirmed, as distinguished from the goal of beating their chests and proving how tough they are, they're doing the right thing.

Exactly. I’m not a Collins fan but she wants to hear from the accusers. She wants to vote for Kavanaugh but is telling Grassley shenis holding her support until she gets their testimony.

If we lose Collins, Flake and the red state dems are gone. If Rush is right we lose the mid-terms and the dems will stop the President’s agenda.

I read somewhere that Sen. Collins wants Ford to give her testimony under oath. Most feel that is a necessity.
