I'm guessing her tire went flat, and she thought this was a way to "Getz me sum nu tias".

Has anyone here ever tried to 'slash' a car tire ? Do you know how hard it is to get a knife stabbed into a tire ?

Unless you pick the proper spot, you also run into steel belts.

That’s for sure, not gonna use a folding pocket knife for that job like in the movies.

Much easier to cut off or tear off the valve stem to create a flat.

Not as expensive as 4 cut tyres but if the stems are cut/torn off that means all 4 have be removed and busted off the rim just to put the new stem in. Then rebalance all 4 again.

I don’t know the current price of it but I’ll say between $80 and $200 depending on the Shop and type of valve stems. Basic rubber stems are cheap to free, metal “bolt in type” $4-$9 each, balance $10 each, and dismount/remount free-$20 each or more.

Easier to just cut off the valve stems. It achieves the same effect of flattening the tire.
