Yesterday, my colleague Mitch McConnell offered an important amendment to repeal and replace Obamacare in the U.S. Senate. One of the loudest messages I heard in the last election was that Americans didn’t want big government interferring in their healthcare. And we are following through on what we heard.
As you know, the House of Representatives passed a bill to repeal the healthcare overhaul and if we are able to pass this amendment in the Senate, it will put us one important step closer to repealing the law.
Of course, some Democrats are claiming that repealing Obamacare will actually cost money and nothing could be further from the truth. As every family and businessperson understands, repealing this big government mandate will not cost money and will return healthcare decisions to individuals and their doctors.
Please stand with me and my fellow Senators who support repealing and replacing Obamacare. Senate Democrats have promised to do everything they can to block the bill, and are scrambling to confirm their votes.
Your signature on the petition will send a strong message to Washington that the American people are opposed to government run healthcare. Everywhere we turn opposition to the healthcare overhaul grows. Just this week, U.S. District Jude Roger Vinson in Florida ruled that Obamacare is unconstitutional, and “must be declared void”. I couldn’t agree more, and hope you will join me in asking every member of the Senate to vote in favor of the McConnell amendment to repeal Obamacare.
