I love introducing Genesis “Carpet Crawlers” to someone .. even someone who knows the genre, and even Genesis. Many people have never (!) heard that song before and it sounds incredible through headphones.. even without today’s “Loudness wars”.

If someone loves the modern song “hooks” they’ll even be surprised by the unusual chord changes and timing that made that song so haunting. And again, most people .. even those who aren’t hidden from 70s music .. haven’t even heard of the song.

I like the original, but Phil's version on "Seconds Out" is even better than Gabriel's original.
