She completely misunderstood the President’s comments. He wasn’t saying she was overly harshly sentenced, what he meant is that there are people who have done worse that are still at large and deserve more than the piddly five years that miss Winner got.

Winner misinterpreted Trump’s words. Both Winner and Clinton are guilty of serious crimes, but only Winner was punished. Trump thought Clinton should also have been punished. The disparity of treatment was unfair, not Winner’s sentence.
