Says so right in the tapes HE released which says to pay with check and unless the check came from the campaign (and it didn’t) all they can try to hit Trump with is that it was still a campaign contribution because he tried to influence the outcome - which is still bs because then any private charity or business that Trump owns was considered a political influence on the campaign - arguably not the intent of the law - never mind the fact that the entire Clinton foundation is a political campaign entity and illegal on its face then.
