I actually went to a Salvation Army corps for several weeks, before heading to a nearby Baptist church (to get the communion and then to become a choir singer — my musical side was pretty much ignored at SA except for one initial essay at the piano, which I did well, but for some reason they didn’t care to repeat it).
While at the Salvation Army corps, I commented that every church really ought to be a small-s, small-a salvation army.
I think I am a spiritually foresighted person, smelling out these battle clouds before many others see them. The ongoing war isn’t new. Its present degree of heat IS new, and many things are changing, and we got to shed that civilian garb and don the military garb.
Naw, We a smoking them out.
