France never had a minimum age of consent, and while passing new laws strengthening penalties for sex with minors, it failed to set a minimum age of consent, instead leaving each individual case to a judge to decide if consent was able to be given.
Of course its misleading and false... but it is disturbing that they find themselves unable to just say sex with someone under this age is rape, period.
The up to the judge to decide if the child understood what it was consenting to or not leaves a huge hole, that is going to leave some of the most vulnerable more exposed.
For it is hard to argue than a victim of abuse didnt know what they were consenting too if they had been sexually abused from a young age, when a predator locks in on them.
However the claims of this article and headline are garbage... but the internet is about getting a reaction not truth.
Honestly my guess on the failure to just say, below this age is rape, period.. has more to do with protecting homosexual predatory old men than Muslims.
