I think parents are afraid that their children will be abused, neglected, or medicated into a stupor in a group home or institution. Or maybe just feel terrified and abandoned.
And they might be right, sometimes. Love and despair at wit’s end.
Have heard horror stories of these group homes and institutions. Most of the people are McDonalds workers. Some care but most, it’s just a job.
Yes a lot of these types are abused and even after it goes through the court system they still don’t get justice.
