I had a gf that was a hospice nurse.

After we split (well probably before) she became addicted to opiates (she was already an alcy). She ended up offing herself.

The pain I witnessed of her family was heavy. She was a selfish bitch. Ask her daughters and grandkids, mother, sister, dad, cousins..... I was even mad at her for quitting the game....

Opioid addiction can be common in nurses; not just hospice nurses. Fortunately for me, I hate taking ANY meds!

Suicide because of an unhappy life is truly a tragedy for those left behind - and devastating!

I’m talking about people with terminal conditions living with horrible pain. I have a difficult time telling them they cannot chose their own manner/time of death. I have seen many cases where death was a relief to the family, because of the intense suffering.

IMO there's no doubt something was driving her to think only of herself. But those left behind can use anger to shield against really seeing why she made the decision she did.
