“Truth is in the eye of the beholder”

Actually, truth “is” in the eye of the beholder :-). Only facts are objective. Truth is more of a philosophical term relating to fact, but is also relative to the person claiming the truth.

Truth and fact are synonymous these days when they shouldn’t be.

A person’s point of view is subjective, depending upon what they know or don’t know, or what they choose to ignore. Cherry-picking the truth only for the facts you approve of is the root of bias. But ignoring facts doesn’t make them untrue, it just makes you dishonest.
