The IG is Horowitz, who was appointed by Obama.

Not that it matters. Trump appointed Jeff Sessions and Rod Rosenstein, who have been much more destructive to the rule of law than Horowitz.

Agreed. But Horowitz went to great lengths to get all of Strzok’s texts. Tried using a DOJ technology to get them all from Strzok’s phone, then went to a private contractor and finally to the DoD and was finally able to get the goods.

So it would appear that Strzok misspoke in naming the IG.
