With the Yankees reportedly having "increased interest" in trading for Orioles All-Star Manny Machado as the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline nears, the Red Sox have also been in contact with Baltimore about the slugging shortstop, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Machado, a free agent this offseason, is in the midst of his best season in the Majors, entering Tuesday hitting .309/.379/.555 before belting two home runs against the Yankees at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Per the Baltimore Sun report, a Red Sox scout was in attendance.

nothing ridiculously and artificiality inflates the “value” of a player than the bosox and yankees getting into a slap fight.

the orioles are retards if they trade him within the division.

Machado hates the RedSox but then again money can make you chage your mind. Machado is asking to keep 13 Jersey number which was A-Rods. I think Machado goes to a national league team.

Red Sox already have a pretty good shortstop. Most likely just trying to drive the price up for the Yankees.

This is the just the Orioles trying to drive up the price for Machado. Both the Red Sox and the Yankees don’t need a SS. What ever team ultimately gets him will have to pay more to get him.

“the orioles are retards if they trade him within the division.”

He’s a two month rental as of now, so that’s not a big deal.

They need a 3rd baseman. Devers has like 19 errors or something. He has some pop, but nothing spectacular.

The Orioles are signaling that they have given up hope of making the playoffs this year.
