The Iranians tried laying mines in the 80s and Ronaldus Magnus and our navy kicked their butts.

"Jerry, motor oil is the life blood of a car. Okay, ya put in a low grade oil you can damage vital engine parts, okay? See this gasket? I have no confidence in that gasket."

Larry, the Strait of Hormuz is the gasket of the Middle East.

I don’t see “market share” for a commodity as a viable estimation of any long-term plan. People will always buy the oil they need at the price that is best.

Trump would then rightly be able to open up all US reserves for production setting the goal to become net exporters of oil. hint, this would hurt Canada more than OPEC)

What I am saying is that the spike will cause more American wells to be drilled, spur even more innovation in the American energy industry, lead to capital investment in infrastructure like pipelines, more refineries designed to process American crude oils such as West Texas Intermediate (WTI), and the expansion of port facilities to export oil.

All of this infrastructure is a capital investment that will remain after the artificial spike and will solidify America's position as an energy superpower.

Stop trying to scare me about the price of oil. They tried to blame the YEARLY, regular, normal price rise of late April/early May on Trump, and it won’t work here either.

If it goes up somewhat, it becomes profitable to take oil out of some wells which were not profitable at the old price of oil. This exerts a downward pressure on prices, so they tend not to go up OUT OF CONTROL, as the a$$HOLE author of the article wants us to believe.

RT is Russia Today.

Trying to fool me is rarely successful.

Seinfeld never really took on clickbait, but they did take on mechanics and bait/switch.

George: What’s to think about? If Putty says it’s what it is, it’s what it is. He’s not gonna cheat you.

Jerry: Except that it’s not Putty.

George: What happened to Putty?

Jerry: Eh, we had a little fight about the move. I took her to this other place. I think they might be trying to screw me.

George: Well, of course they’re trying to screw you. What do you think? That’s what they do. They can make up anything. Nobody knows. “By the way, you need a new Johnson rod in there.” “Oh, a Johnson rod. Yeah, well, you better put one of those on.”

“if Iran goes through with its threat to close the Strait of Hormuz”

isn’t that what we have a navy for?

Sure. If something that isn’t going to happen for more than a few hours happens for months...it could happen.

Maybe $250 bbl for one day.

Then the Persian Navy ceases to exist. Worst than when the Greeks kicked their ass.
