The term “D-Day” is used in any military-style operation planning where actions have to be coordinated and timed in a sequence. The precise day (D-Day) and hour (H-Hour) does not need to be fixed in order to plan the operation but once it is fixed the countdown begins.

The beginning of a planned series of events without a know sure outcome.
