While the Union victory at the Battle of Gettysburg was most important, the real Battle that was a key turning point in the Civil War was won on the same days surrounding the fourth of July Gettysburg victory....the U.S. Grant critical victory at Vicksburg, MS, which denied the Confederacy the use of the entire Mississippi River.
