While not disagreeing with their position, clearly our side sorely needs to learn the fine art of incrementalism; don't try to eat the elephant at one sitting. Get what you can now and then ask for more later.

Never compromise. Ever. You’re suggesting letting them take (at least some) of what was never theirs, and being thankful they didn’t take it all.

It’s OK to take a fist full where possible but you are right - it will take a long and concerted effort to get where we need to be.....occasional sprints are OK but we need to become long distance runners.
