Not notably hot. My deck is mostly in the sun, especially starting at noon. The color is essentially reddish brown, but grey is also available. The material is essentially saw dust combined with dye and plastic that’s been baked into planks and various fittings. Check it out with Lowe’s or Home Depot. Good stuff.

Thanks.

Our long rainy seasons, the sun and heat eat up the redwood stains and you are lucky if the deck last 8-10 years.

One of our adult guys put in a gray deck of the composite 17 years ago, and it is still in good shape. His current home is headed for the 2nd redwood replacement in 15 years.

The joke out here is: “Brinks delivers your redwood decking for you!”
