We love the Met Live in HD. Here's teh link to the 2018-19 live season. if you haven't seen one, it will be enriching. I'm particularly that they're finally doing Adriana Lecoeuvreur on the Live in HD.

Going to my favorite opera, Fledermaus, tomorrow night in Salt lake city. Drove a long way for it. Really enjoy that opera!

I wish that I could stream it into my home.

I agree with you about the Met's The Magic Flute. That and Tosca. I would love to see those again!

Die Zauberflote was one of LAST year's summer encores.
Both the encores and the 2018-19 season look great. And full of the best talents in the field.

That would be nice. For now, though, your movie theater will have to do.
It’s now streamed live to 3.5 million people at a time, in 70 countries. In the US, there are encores (usually the Wednesday evening after the live showing) in case you can’t see it on Saturday.

I have a local theatre that does this. I just have a seventy inch and it would be great to either stream or download and watch. I suppose they are concerned about copyright.

They could probably make it a pay per view event if they wanted to, but it’s a partnership among the Met (the content provider), Fathom Events (the distributor), and the theatres (the exhibitor.)

You can subscribe to the Met on Demand and stream it via your computer. Now, if you can just get the computer to feed it to the TV.
Of course, those aren’t the live showings.

Just bought a ticket to the June 20 showing of Madam Butterfly. Haven’t seen it since I was a teen. This is going to be great.

Perhaps I will get involved locally and find a going to the opera partner.

This year is the year that my wife and I are “doing” the Santa Fe Opera on their 60th anniversary. We first thought about doing this 21 years ago in a short Santa Fe vacation. Two operas in one weekend. Pre-preformance talks, Opera Dinners, Santa Fe during a special event.
Cowboy boots, Hickey Freeman and bolo tie.
