Wife and I try to make it up to the MN North Shore in the fall to take in the colors and hit the restaurants along the way. We try to get one night or two at Naniboujou, near Grand Marias.
We also like visiting the amethyst mine at Thunder Bay and rubbing shoulders with a few Canuks.
Before I retired, I was GM of a steamship bunkering business in Duluth-Superior. I bought some of our fuel from what was then the Murphy Refinery (now Husky Oil.)

It’s beautiful up there, though if I’m ever going to take a trip for fun, I don’t want to go north at all. It’s cold enough in west central MN. I don’t do well in cold weather. I guess I’m a wimp for a life long Minnesotan!
