That is a great story!
Can you point, either publicly or privately, to your drawings? They sound wonderful. We need to celebrate the people here. FR is FILLED with musicians and artists and historians. What a wealth of creativity.
You would have to visit a National Park book store or hiking trail to find my drawings. Most were for the Death Valley Natural History Assoc books and U.S. Forest Service trail guides; Ancient Bristlcone Pine Forest, Sotcher Lake in the Sierra of California, etc.
Vivaldi - Nuovi Virtuosi Di Roma - Concerto in C - Op 8 No 6
Corrected on YouTube. Only wish I could correct it here. You are SUCH a blessing, Sirius. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your corrections. I think I fixated on the Bach because of the modern pieces I was doing. But I went thru hell and damnation trying to find something for the beginning and it was husband who found the Vivaldi Six violin concertos. THANK YOU. Always correct me. Please.
O’Keeffe. Not just bones in the desert. Wonderful. Good choice of music. You must have worked at it. Thank you.
Bump of Thanks!
It took MUCH longer than I expected. Her body of work is enormous and I kept finding more and more pieces. There is ONE piece in there identified as hers in one place. No name. No date. No verification. No auction site. In general, I avoid those. But this one special piece took me over so much that, when I found a similar piece, I put it in. Ah, temptation. Giving in is so sweet.
I’m really glad you like the video. That means something to me. Next, ancient Egyptian.
Bump back. You’re more than welcome.

That was a treat. I expanded the video to the full size of the computer screen and watched it and listened to the beautiful music.
Consider yourself very gently hugged. I’m so very glad you liked it. The American Indian music was from meditation CDs and I’ve been fearful people would fall asleep. I put it on the day it came and then went to bed, not noticing it was on infinite repeat. All night. Must have been restful. Wouldn’t know. Slept through it. All night.
Delicately put.
I’m ridin’ out looking for Doc Middleton in the morning!
I’ll try to head him off at the pass. That should work.
Darn it! He was worth $2000!! In old money!!
Thank you, mairdie, for another excellent selection. Love her paintings but more those of the later years. I went to her museum in Santa Fe and bought several books, could have stayed there for hours. There is a zen-like serenity to her paintings, a peaceful solitude that appeal to me.
Really glad you liked the video. Agree on early/late. I was tempted to separate the early from the later, as I did with Turner, but for some reason it didn’t feel right to do that. But it’s fascinating to see how that style developed chronologically. I can see her later work in that early series of Evening Star - the large sphere and base that looks like a weird snail. Interesting point about the stillness of her work. Those are the ones I like best, too.
