Yep, they definitely have a place. A nice 5 shot for the EDC bag, tackle or tool box, pocket gun for walks etc. and they are always ready. I bought and taught my mom how to shot a Charter Arms .38 after my dad passed away and she downsized and started living alone as well. You can't go wrong with simple point and click for immediate self defense. I still love my full sized .45 auto (I have several), and I also just purched the FN 509, which shoots well.
