My uncle was in Korea in 1950 and carried an M1 Carbine he had filed the sear down on and loved it. He found several 30 round magazines and taped them together. He said there was always communist weaponry laying around and he ran across a really nice PPSH with a drum magazine and he decided to pick it up and tote it around for a while. After a couple of days according to him, “I flung that heavy piece of crap in a rice paddy” and unslung his M1.
