I have a friend who married into money, where the money was all on the girl’s mother’s side. When asking the father for the (spoiled) daughter’s hand, the girl’s father asked, “Why d’ya want to do that? If I were you, I’d buy a dog and move to Alaska.” My friend said that a few years later, after the divorce and she’d taken him to the cleaners, he often wished he’d taken his father-in-law’s advice.

I have a feeling that’s what the father wished he had done.
I dodged a bullet in my younger days. I Dated a girl who at the time I propbably would have married... her entire family warned me... fortunately for me she ended the relationship before it got to that level.
I am still friends with her family, and every time she come up in conversation or I see her I thank the stars that she broke up with me. Crazy doesn’t even begin to describe her.
