I’ve seen people saying this has nothing to do with Trump. It’s not due to Trump, but despite him. Etc...

Hard to believe the twists.

The current SK president could be a shill for the North and/or Russia. He could be their version of Comrade Obama. ...

“Moon Jae-in, born 24 January 1953) is a South Korean politician currently serving as President of South Korea.[1][2][3][4][5] He was elected after the impeachment of Park Geun-hye, in the 2017 presidential election.

Entrance to politics

Despite his earlier indifference, he began to get involved in politics. He published a memoir called Moon Jae-in: The Destiny which became a bestseller.[20]

His popularity had been rising steady against the likely opponent in the presidential race, Park Geun-hye. For instance, in a February 2012 poll, Moon managed to gain parity with Park in popularity.[21]

Moon managed to capitalize on the conservatives’ decline in popularity amid a series of corruption scandals.

As one pundit said, “Moon had managed to portray himself as a moderate and rational leader who has the backing of the younger generation”.[22] ...”

We just returned from the Philippines and a baggage guy and I got to talking about my MAGA hat and I mentioned that no one really knows yet that it will be the definite influence if not work of President Trump when (I used that word) the Korea's are unified.

Some vacationing professor looking guy injected, "Yeah, but for the wrong reasons"

I was on the move and didn't have time to respond

This was in either Newark or Pittsburgh.

Sorry, I'm seriously jet lagged and can't remember which airport except it was in The USA.

This sounds like the best description of what *could* happen better than anything else I’ve seen.

Remember what happened when the Warsaw Pact group began to break up, and the Iron Curtain began crumbling. Our high-priced “intelligence community” either couldn’t or didn’t foresee such a thing happening. Too many careerists had vested interests in seeing the status quo continue.

A peace treaty formally ending the Korean War would leave the loony lefties so hopping mad they’d forget to hop. Especially as the hermit kingdom opened up, and the real joys of the “socialist workers paradise” came to light.

The media have gone all in on the Resist movement. They are betting their Leftist masters can retake power if they continue on this path. If they are wrong, if we keep power, the media will have done irreparable harm to their credibility, even with low information voters. I hope to see CNN, MSNBC, NYTimes, WaPo, and the rest finally die from the damage they are inflicting on themselves.

But here’s the catch: Stalin got Kim Il-sung to invade the south in the first place. He got Mao to go along, thanks to favors owed for support provided during the Chinese Civil War.

I tend to view Russia in this case as the wild card in the whole deck. Having said that, I also believe you’re on the right track when you say China would really, really, like the US out of the Korean peninsula.

One can only hope Mr. Trump’s dealmaking skills include plans for regional security after a formal peace treaty gets signed ending the Korean War.

Go imagine the top 100 South Korean companies....given some North Korean guys who will work for the equivalent of 200 dollars a month, a pallet of food delivered to the front-door, a case of beer, 24-hour a day electricity, and access to ‘the Real Housewives of Seoul’ TV show. Cheap labor, cheap SK products sold in the US.

Trump would fly over and get some six-star welcome parade down Pyongyang and women weeping in the streets with Donald getting out and shaking hands with folks.

To some degree, the success is because there is no media coverage. Nobody is posturing in the media, but quietly going about negotiating an end to the Kim regime.

Success seems imminent. Just as the Berlin Wall came down, not a matter of “if” but when.

With timing being everything, Mattel should be ready to ship billions of "licensed" Princess Ivanka Barbie dolls to both Koreas and China. Such a well timed move could actually reverse existing trade deficits...without starting trade wars.

Because it would absolutely kill them to attribute something good to Trump, such is the depth for their hatred towards him.

Better to ignore it and pass it off as a ho hum kind of event, like reporting on the latest Arkancide by the Clintons.

Interesting thing is, Kim Jung Un’s grandparents were Christians.

North Korea has a very interesting history of Christianity in it before the communists took over.

I know Koreans whoa re praying for his salvation.

china is negotiating the trade deal through this gesture... their pressure and the failure of the nuclear test site has made kim jung un a playa for peace...

look for a creation of a governing body in north korea, with kimmie as a figure head, until dead...
