Beset by big college loans, inheriting two wars, and facing an uncertain future of work, a majority of millennials say baby boomers have made things worse for them and a lot of boomers agree, according to a new Axios/SurveyMonkey poll.
Why it matters: If it persists, the generational divide could turn into political rivalry as the generations compete for limited tax dollars millennials seeking government help as automation takes hold, and boomers insisting on promised levels of Social Security and Medicare.
The poll found that 51% of millennials (18- to 34-year-olds) blame boomers (51- to 69-year-olds) for making things worse for their generation. Just 13% said boomers had improved things. Generation X wasn't pleased with the boomers, either.

Among suggested ways to improve matters now, millennials said:
* "Remove all old government officials and term limits for the House and Congress," a 34-year-old male Republican said.* A number said "Impeach Trump" and "vote."
* "Sleep more because you will be less sensitive to negative emotions," said a 22-year-old female Democrat.

They aren’t -completely- wrong. The boomers seriously screwed up some big things, starting with their education from kindergarten to women’s studies degrees that left them 160,000 in debt with no skill set.
I used to think we were giving the millenials the shaft but then I realized they are as much of if not more of the problem than we are.
I would say the Boomers and all those generations after around 1900 blew it. We are reaping the whirlwind now. But I believe God’s grace and mercy is at work to reverse a lot of this for the next few decades before Christ comes for his saints and it all finally and suddenly comes crashing down.
As a 38 year old, from the end of Generation X, I have to say that the Millennials have no one to blame but themselves. No one forced them to take on so much debt for a sometimes useless college degree, and no one is forcing them to spend more than they earn.
What is “Axios?” How many people read it?
Who is the “silent generation”?
Really blaming any of that on an 18-year band of Americans is ridiculous.
None of that stuff was voted in by a single generation.
Hey! Eat your spinach and get back to your Diversity and White Privilege training.
Eventually you can turn them into Soylent Green.
Nothing new here. Kids in the 1920s blamed their parents for handing over a war-addled planet. The snowflakes of today will create the socialist society they want and get to live in it, while blaming the rest of us for handing them a crippling national debt. They’ll be right about that.
Not my fault. Millennials could be boomers’ kids OR grandkids. Blame the hippies like Bill and Hillary.
Still, take some responsibility, kiddos.

If the Boomers are to blame why do THEY know how to change light bulbs whereas a poll of Millennials found many couldn’t?
The Boomers have lots of problems, but no generation is responsible for a later on being overrun with idiots. The kids did that to themselves.
millennials are actually different demographics from different eras.
One is the second baby boom (coming in after the baby bust of Gen-X between the 2 booms) and the other are today’s young turks like Hogg who have had NO war so lets drop this “inherited 2 wars” BS.
And 51 is NOT baby boom. 1967 is well into the baby bust (thanks abortion and the pill).
I think they are just after boomers and before Gen X. Depends who you ask.
The proglibs did it.

Here's some free advice:
- get a job...
- start paying off those loans which you freely signed up for...
- as for the wars, ninety-nine per cent of you live your lives with no effect from these wars so quit your bitching...
I’m a boomer.
Suck it up buttercup!
Instead of blaming the boomers, blame the 60’s.
