If Trump had picked a better AG, who should it have been, and what do you think would/should have have happened by now?

If it was Christie, or Giuliani, or whoever, would/should there have been no Russia witch hunt investigation at all? How exactly would this better AG have silenced the impeach Trump crowd in congress and the press who were screaming for an investigation 24/7?

Would it be by firing Rosenstien and others in the DOJ? How would this AG have kept the MSM from spinning a slew of firings into Trump’s “Saturday Night Massacre”?

By now, would there be a bunch of top dogs from past administrations in jail (or headed there) with a stronger AG?

This isn’t rhetorical - I’m asking serious questions.

My belief is that the Sessions bashers are suffering from high expectations if they think any Clintons, Podestas, Lynches, Holders, Rices etc. would have been wearing orange jumpsuits by now, had we had a stronger AG who had nor recused anything, had “cleaned house” and had done his job.

Without a time machine and a do-over, we’ll never know.

Personally, I think if we had a different AG, the only difference would be that a different AG would be getting constantly bashed on FR.

The press and the Democrats are constantly hysterical about Trump. The idea that the only way to respond to their lying and screaming is by appeasement is insane. Europe tried the appeasement route pre-WWII; how’d that work out?

Appeasing the Left/evil only feeds their bloodlust. Appeasing them with Sessions’ recusal and a dirty, relentless coup attempt by Hillary-fixer Mueller was beyond insane. It has subsumed what should have been the best, strongest part of Trump’s presidency and created an insatiable Leftist lust for Trump’s head on a platter. It was a monumental show of weakness and the Left, like all thugs, respond to weakness by demanding blood.

A strong AG could have begun the investigation by examining the illegal FISA warrants. The best defense is an offense. There were many outright lies told in order to secure the illegal surveillance. Start by exposing those lies. Move on to other Leftist malfeasance. (It’s a target rich environment.) Be aggressive. Keep them on defense. Strength is the only response that evil understands.

As the highest executive in the DOJ, Sessions has been a miserable failure. Of course the job is no bed of roses, particularly in this heated political climate and because of previous scandals under the Obama administration that happened prior to his watch. That said, Sessions has stood passively by while the reputations of both agencies he heads — the DOJ and FBI — have been severely damaged during his tenure owing to repeated refusals by these agencies to cooperate with the legitimate oversight responsibilities of the U.S. congress. That, sadly, is indisputable. And that stonewalling continues to this very moment.

As the AG, one of his greatest responsibilities is ensuring the integrity of the chief law enforcement agency in our country. His actions, or lack thereof, speak loudly and can quickly lead to a loss of confidence in the fairness and competence of the agency he heads. Sessions has not steeped up to manage this crisis of confidence. Rather he has been reclusive and passive to the point where the reviled Rod Rosenstein is widely perceived as being the de facto AG.

Its not so much about jailing people as it is exposing the truth about the nefarious machinations that threaten our democracy and holding people accountable for their roles in partisan political treachery, stonewalling and otherwise resisting the release of facts that the American people have a right to know about.

It is hard to believe that anyone could be as passive and tolerant of wrongdoing and ongoing cover-ups as Jeff ‘Sleepy’ Sessions, unless he was either part of the Deep State or personally compromised. Its also hard not to believe that almost anyone else could have done a better job as AG.
