I’m beginning to think about Mattis that he probably is truly a mad dog in combat.
But, in the bureaucracy/halls of the Pentagon he seems to hold back. Maybe even be a little awe struck by it all.
The Pentagon is an “Augean Stable” and cannot be cleaned out in a day. It will take time and serious effort to correct the damage the last administration did.
