Zuckerberg’s testimony does not address fully that Obama’s reelection campaign scraped data from users who downloaded the Obama 2012 app, and from those users’ friends. The users’ friends did not give consent - these people were simply unaware their data was being used by the Obama campaign analytics.
The former director of Obama for America’s Integration and Media Analytics shop, explained that the political bias within Facebook allowed her to continue the use of Facebook user’s data without their consent. Facebook had to realize they were violating the rights of their users but failed to care.

This is going to be an opportunity for the Senate to show its complete ignorance of the technology and purpose of the internet and social media. Political ascendancy involves tenure and seniority. As a result, you have folks like Diane Feinstein - at what, 84? - who are entirely clueless about this issue. And they’ll be asking questions.
I stopped watching.. Catching a little here and there, but for the most part its background noise to me right now. LOL.

I listened to Patrick Leahy’s questioning of Zuckerberg. He sounded absolutely drunk. He has always slurred, but either he is just old as many of us have become, or he was impaired.
Look up the meaning of a dog and pony show and apply it to this charade.
