Many Trump voters now wont get out and vote in November. Why would they? They (rightly or wrongly) are concluding that it doesnt much matter whom you vote for. The Dems will probably regain Congress and then Trump will go full-bore Democrat to protect a legacy.
Yes, it was impossible. He should have, could have vetoed the omnibus. Yes, Congress would have over ridden his veto but the anger would have been correctly targeted on Congress. (which would have helped somewhat in 2018). Now everyones mad at Trump. He should have taken a stand.
Maybe he wants a Dem congress in 2018? Hmmmm.
Wrong. You couldn’t be more wrong. Trump would have vetoed that garbage bill if he thought he could blame the Dems like he did on DACA. Obviously, he couldn’t. We would have had a month of GOP Civil War that would have only ended when the Democrats agreed to pass a bill. There was no happy ending here. The GOP has abanded a POTUS of their own party.
A veto would have been spun as “GOP dysfunction”. GOP POTUS vetoes GOP Congress = “GOP unable to govern.”
Buy a clue before it’s too late, FRiend. Flake and Schumer are playing you like a fiddle and are laughing at your naivety
And I believe that you are wrong. We’ll know which one of us is right in November. And to be clear, I hope you are right, but, sadly, you aren’t.
