Disney used black activist(s) for cultural lecturing, of course it got bad reviews and bad rating (box office bomb). But for the executives, it is ok for the company, you know, corporate virtue signaling.
But the stockholders might have different opinions, after all they (I think, most of them) want their money investment returned more fruitfully.
I suppose this “racism” would explain why “Black Panther” was also a critical and financial disaster?
Maybe it was Russian meddling?
My son, his cousin (who read the book) and my mother in law went to see it last weekend. My MiL is a liberal and likes Oprah but still said it was the worst movie she had even seen. My son hated it as well.
So long as Disney owns and can keep ruining the Star wars franchise to the tune of a bazillion dollars they can get away with crap like this turkey.
Fundamentally changing the story line of a beloved children’s book series in order to rid it of its Christian foundation is not racist. It is demonic.
I should also note that I didn’t watch the movie, nor read the book, either. Sorry about that.
Good observation.
Black Panther did not try to preach cultural racism or sexism (or any other -ism) to the audience, it is simply a fantasy action movie.
Sounds like that movie is as good as the Obama paintings.
I thought the bad guy in “Black Panther” wanted to arm all the non-whites in the world with Wakandan weaponry so they could throw off their shackles?
Wouldn’t that count as cultural racism?
Doesn’t help that the girl she cast has terminal Bitchy Resting Face...at age 14!
Okay dipwad, explain Black Panther's box office returns then.
It did not take long for the black female director to play the race card.
Yet, the Black Panther, staring a black male actor has done very well.
How ironic that the black racist, who practiced cultural appropriation to ruin a loved work of literature, accuses the people she offended of “racism”.
As you said, it was portrayed as the ‘bad guy’ in Black Panther.
It is not the same as cloaking it (cultural racism) with halos and virtually everything good as in the Wrinkle in Time movie.
“Black Panther did not try to preach cultural racism or sexism (or any other -ism) to the audience, it is simply a fantasy action movie.”
Glad to hear that. Now I’ll consider seeing it. It appears to be a good story.
Loved the book as a child. When I saw the poster for the movie, my initial reaction was: “You have go to be kidding me...Oprah?...Really?” I want nothing to do with the Oprah.
So... a nappy headed ho?
the “subtle, resonant” theme of the black main character’s insecurity about her hair.
Oh yeah, just the kind of flic I want to see.
Sheeesh.
She/he/it hates white people (yes we are people) white people stay away and now its something described with awful Hitleresque political rhetoric for being the reason for fail. Why we allow the so called liberals the use of such dehumanizing rhetoric is beyond me.
