The former FBI agent who announced his retirement from the federal agency in a New York Times column Friday after claiming the relentless attacks on the bureau made it impossible to continue working there, promptly received a CNN job as a law enforcement analyst in less than 48 hours.
Josh Campbell, who until a few hours ago, billed himself on his Twitter account as an assistant to former FBI Director James Comey (he has since deleted this fact from his bio), debuted on CNN Monday. The author section of his NYT column also notes that he served as special assistant to the bureaus director.
It remains unclear why Campbell has decided to remove this information from his account, but Comey did share his Times column on Twitter Friday and said Campbells voice is an important addition to the national conversation. The hat tip signals a relationship between the two men and possible knowledge of Campbells new role as a cable news pundit.
The quick transition from FBI agent to on-air contributor raises questions about Campbells relationship with the network. The cable news network has relied on anonymous sources within the federal law enforcement agency during the Trump administration.

Let us hope Trump is playing a Schumer on Schumer. Schumer tries to tell the media He voted to AUTHORIZE the wall (while failing to fund it). Trump can sign a bill which gives him #138 Billion to spend and then not spend it.
Actually, this tells us valuable info. If the FBI was interested in defending their reputation they would send this guy to Fox where his voice would be useful. Instead they send him to CNN where the only people to hear him already believe what the FBI wants them to. IOW, he is only being sent as a mouthpiece for talking points. IOW, the FBI is still firmly in control of the Deep State and their are a lot more holdovers dug in than Strzok and Page. What we have seen so far at the FBI and DOJ is just the tip of the iceberg. Valuable information.
What, you don't like art by bureaucratic committee?
So Comey is now the Director of National Conversation?
To paraphrase Lenin, “When someone says ‘conversation’, I reach for my revolver”.
Does look kind of amateurish. What is it that gives it that unpolished feel?
I think what they’re doing is setting themselves up to attack Trump, Nunes, and other white hats - while, at the same time, being able to shield themselves against slander, by being able to claim that they’re part of the media.
This is EXACTLY why the media has to lose it’s immunity from being sued - I love the First Amendment, and we can still have a functional First Amendment - but it CANNOT be allowed to PROTECT people who are using the media for political purposes - it was NEVER intended for that purpose.
The revolving door has to end. How is it right that the taxpayers may be paying an FBI pension, health care, etc. to this dude working at CNN?
WHO at the FBI did the background research on Rob Porter and Dropped the Ball on what the ex-wives said to the FBI.....Did the FBI agent try to SABOUTAGE Trump??? WHO DID THE REPORT???
This? This is pure promotional material. What a fraud and POS.
If a tree falls in the forest........
Live leak.
Pretty simple: If these agents were REALLY concerned about the integrity of the FBI, they would be calling for immediate investigation and oversight by Congress to disprove any charges of wrongdoing.
Just more propaganda.
The argument is if you confront certain Members of the FBI who have proven themselves to be dirty, you attack everyone who works there. That makes you look like you have no respect for such a wonderful Law Enforcing Government Institution. The same holds true for every Government Alphabet Agency.
Of course it’s like the typical attack on Conservatives.
If a “perceived” Conservative is attached to an Organization that Liberals label a Hate Group like “White Nationalists”, every Conservative is considered a Nazi.

Excellent, this will only strengthen the later to be filed charges against CNN for aiding the attempt to overthrow the US govt.
My guess it makes shaping the message faster and easier for CNN.
Zackly.
Same job (destroying PDJT); different venue.
